       Abortion is a very taboo topic in Jamaica. Some argue that it is murder, and there are others who believe that it is a woman's right to decide if she wants to terminate her pregnancy or not. Seeing that Christianity is one of the most commonly practiced religions in Jamaica, I can see why the topic doesn't sit well with many. However, the truth is that people will do whatever they want to do with their bodies, regardless of what the law has to say. There are women who are very adamant about not becoming mothers, and they will do anything to avoid motherhood, even if it puts them in danger. There are also some women who were robbed of their choice, and were forced to carry a child they never wanted. Women who need abortions come from different walks of life. Not all of them are poor, "irresponsible" young women. Some have to make the hard decision of terminating their pregnancy for health reasons and some were raped. Task- Social Issues in Jamaica

      We hear it in the news, we see it on social media, the country is being plagued by issues such as crime and violence, sexual abuse, drug abuse and human trafficking. For this task, lets talk specifically about crime. What are some of the causes of crime in Jamaica? Discuss at least two of them. How to improve Natural resources ·          We can improve our land by preserving our forests by replanting trees after they have been cut down, peacefully protesting against illegal logging in our communities and proposing to our leaders that laws must be passed to state that only a limited number of trees must be cut down per year. ·          We can also try to ensure that only two mature trees are removed from forest areas. ·          We can also practice the three R’s which are reduce, reuse and recycle. To reduce means to use less of our resources by practicing moderate use. Reusing means to practice using materials over again. ·          Conserving soil is another method which includes adding compost which is a mixture of decomposed organic matter to soil.
