Abortion is a very taboo topic in Jamaica. Some argue that it is murder, and there are others who believe that it is a woman's right to decide if she wants to terminate her pregnancy or not. Seeing that Christianity is one of the most commonly practiced religions in Jamaica, I can see why the topic doesn't sit well with many. However, the truth is that people will do whatever they want to do with their bodies, regardless of what the law has to say. There are women who are very adamant about not becoming mothers, and they will do anything to avoid motherhood, even if it puts them in danger. There are also some women who were robbed of their choice, and were forced to carry a child they never wanted. Women who need abortions come from different walks of life. Not all of them are poor, "irresponsible" young women. Some have to make the hard decision of terminating their pregnancy for health reasons and some were raped. No matter the reason, do you really think it...
